Homegrown pride

When was the last time we cheered for a team that had stars from the same area the team played in? Tare any of the Yankees or Partriots from their New York or new england, respectively. It is good to see someone with that area pride. Plus, he went to my elementary school! Good job J.T. let's see what else is to come from this Aggie.

J.T., Come on Down!

Sifting through Mike Nolan's comments at the conclusion of the 49ers' three-day minicamp yesterday, one statement stands out from the chafe of mostly insignificant sentences: "...probably the biggest impression that I got out of the quarterback position is that it is probably going to be a three-man race rather than just two. I think J.T. O’Sullivan, as (the competition) goes, is going to be in the thick of it," Nolan declared.

Former UC Davis star J.T. O'Sullivan is jumping into the QB competition

While fortunes can change swiftly, Hill appears destined to once again be the third-stringer. Smith was just handed seven mil in a roster bonus, and O'Sullivan is Martz's boy. He was always pushing the former UC Davis Aggie while in Detroit. Thus, the real competition might shape up between O'Sullivan and Smith and it might be the best thing for Smith if O'Sullivan won. In the Nolan era, coaches have consistently undervalued the learning process.
